The night was nothing for the small feline, despite how his light colored coat would seemingly stick out like a soar thumb; but he hadn't worried about such dangers for quite some time. Instead, he could enjoy the soft breeze that swept through the area, ruffling his fur slightly. There was no need for sleep, at least, he felt not the need anyway, even as the mortal creatures found their peace within the span of the night sky.
The closer he reached to the pond the more he could feel the presence of another, though not active in their movements; he could only assume they had fallen asleep. But in the open like this? No matter the creature, large or small, one could not be so easily tempted to find rest in the open. Closer and closer he brought himself, shreds of fabric that held the antlers upon his sides creating a soft dragging sound against the ground; not unnoticeable, but not far too loud either.
There, just before the beach that lay around the pond, seemed to be laying a lion. Not a sight unknown around the lands of Gaia, in fact, the usual sight to be seen really. Even the gods were Lions themselves, large, intimidating in their stance; but not all of them using fear to control the lands either. Vali's pace became slower the closer he found himself, just until he was inches away from the golden lion on the ground.
His eyes scanned him over, walking around the large creature at a safe distance, a habit left over from his time as a mortal. "Hmm, tired thing," he spoke softly, stopping short just of the male's face; his nose inching close to their own as he sniffed, "stupid place to sleep, don't ya think?"
As soon as the other had shot up from his laying position, the smaller feline stepped back a coupe of inches; giving the male Lion more room for his little panic. Sure, he did kind of come out of no where and come up to the large creature, but he hadn't the need to worry about the danger of the large Lion. He was a deity after all, what sort of harm could nothing more than a mortal do to him? Nothing, nothing was the exact thing that this male could do to him. No matter what he may try or ever say, there was no fear felt by Vali.
"Oh no, a lion, whatever shall I do?" he said, in the most sarcastic manner he could very well muster, "what am I? Curious of you to ask so suddenly, thought you were some scary lion who was going to chomp my face off." The smaller cat allowed a sly grin to pass over the features of his face, mint green eyes scrunched from the very gesture of the grin on his face.
"IF you must know what I am, I'm an Andean Mountain Cat," Vali spoke up matter of fact, of course he wasn't sure the context of what he'd meant in the fist place; as in what he was in appearance or just in general. So, that answer would have to do for the time being, even if it wasn't exactly what the lion had been looking for.
